Wes Martynec

1.What's your name, your nickname, your hometown and your age?
My name is Wes Martynec, I don’t really have a nickname other than Wes, short for Wesley and my hometown in Samford Valley.

2. Your occupation?
I’m currently working at Red Rooster just for some steady cash flow.

3. How long have you been riding for, and do you skate other styles?
I’ve been skating for just under 7 years and I do I little bit of everything involving park, street and bowl riding.

4. What was the first influence that encouraged you to start skating?
When I was roughly 11 a good friend of mine got a skateboard for his birthday so I borrowed one of his brothers old boards and we took then down to ferny and that encouraged me to go buy one the next day and I haven’t stopped skating since.

5. What's the gnarliest road /park you've ridden?
The best park I’ve skated would have to be Pizzy park on the Gold Coast, the place is just huge!

6. What's the best thing about the Brisbane skate scene?
The thing I like most about the Brisbane skate scene is that everyone seems to know each other and we all get along because of this sport that we all have a passion for.

7. What do you enjoy most about skateboarding ?
The thrill of just being on a board can be just incredible, the adrenaline you get and the achievement of landing a new trick for the first time.

8. What's your ultimate skating ambition?
At the moment I’ve just been trying to focus on having fun and just enjoy what skating has to offer, whatever happens in the future is for me to worry about when it comes round.

9. What has been you best highlight in your skating experience so far?
My biggest highlight in skating so far would be the day I got sponsored by Sk8er Skateshop, just to know that I have that support behind me is one of the best feelings.

We would like to thank Eddie Burgin and Mitch Ward for allowing us to use his pictures and you tube links.
